Optimization of logistics and delivery for a pharmaceutical company

What we helped

reduced delivery times

The aim of the project was to shorten delivery times and significantly reduce operating costs by optimizing and digitalizing the logistics and delivery processes.

Initial Situation

The pharmaceutical company had a complex logistics chain with many manual processes and suboptimal delivery efficiency. This led to long delivery times, high operating costs and dissatisfied customers.

1. Analysis of existing logistics and delivery processes

- conducting workshops and interviews with employees to understand the current processes and challenges.

- Identification of weak points and bottlenecks in the logistics chain.

2. Implementation of a transport management system (TMS)

- Introduction of a digital transport management system to automate and optimize transport planning and processing.

- Real-time tracking of deliveries and dynamic route planning to minimize delivery times.

3. Optimization of warehousing

- Implementation of a modern warehouse management system (WMS) for the efficient management and optimization of warehouse stocks.

- Use of barcode and RFID technologies to speed up warehouse processes and reduce errors.

4. Digitization of order processing

- Introduction of EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) systems for automated communication and order processing with customers and suppliers.

- Implementation of workflow automation to reduce manual intervention and speed up processing times.

5. Training and change management

- Training employees in the use of the new digital tools and systems.   - Measures to promote acceptance and understanding of the changes.

6. Monitoring and continuous improvement

- Setting up dashboards and KPI monitoring to monitor the performance of the new processes.

- Regular review and adjustment of processes based on the data collected and feedback from employees.
